Salt Whistle Bay @ Mayreau SVG

Approx 03:00 27Jan03 s/v 'Out of Sight', Rodney Bay, St Lucia, dragged anchor striking s/v 'Mourou' after failing attempts to fend off. The crew of s/v 'Out of Sight' was alterted by horn from s/v 'Mourou' and assisted attempts to fend off. Unfortunately the anchor chain of s/v 'Mourou' was fouled between the keel and rudder of s/v 'Out of Sight' as shown.

Thus engaged both vessels proceeded to drag in a north-westerly direction entangling with s/v 'Sainte Luce' of La Martinique le Marin, as shown.

With the nearly raised anchor of s/v 'Out of Sight' anchor hooked on the anchor chain of s/v 'Sainte Luce'. At this juncture, s/v 'Mourou' was able to motor around the stern of s/v 'Sainte Luce' dragging the anchor chain beneath her and allowing s/v 'Mourou' to retrieve her anchor and reset in approximately her old position.

Meanwhile s/v 'Out of Sight' was able to disengage from the anchor chain of s/v 'Sainte Luce' with s/v 'Sainte Luce' able to reset in approximately her old position. Having lost her propeller at some point during the entanglement s/v 'Out of Sight' was re-anchored in a new position with the assistance of others.
